Sneed was politicking all day so I enjoyed watching the barge traffic on the river

The Louisville Slugger Field was down the street from the hotel. We walked there and enjoyed the first 6 innings of the game. By then it was after 9. As is was getting dark, we left to walk home.

Once upon a time, in a  land far, far away, (Santa Barbara is far away from Katy), there was an unborn baby known as BBB, Baby Boy Bollman.  When he was born, his sobriquet was once again, BBB, Baby Boy Burke. Well, as of today, he has a new appellation with the very same initials ~ BBB, Big Brother Burke.

Yep, Burke is going to have a baby sibling come February. Thanks to Skype, we could see the new message on his onesie. (sorry, Skype photos aren't that good, but at least you can see the BBB). He's so happy he's celebrating by eating pizza!  I'm still smiling about the news.

Dang, we did it again!

Ever since we traded in my Saab on the MKX 2 years ago, I missed its standard transmission. After we had bought the MKX, Sneed found out about the Buick Regal ... a  nice-sized sedan with manual transmission.

This morning we went to the Katy Buick dealer to see the car.There were no manual transmission cars on the lot and we were told we'd have to order a 2013. When we got home, I started checking around on the internet and found this one up in Humble. 50 miles north of here.

Sneed called the dealership to see if the car was still on the lot. It was. He said we'd be there around 6pm. We hadn't planned on buying a car and hadn't brought the title or extra key, but before we knew it, we were driving home in this little beauty three hours later.

Astros vs Rangers with Longtime Friends

Peter, a Brit who was Sneed's roommate in India in the late 60s, and his wife, Maki, are in America visiting our country and their friends spread throughout. Sneed picked them up on Friday and we immediately set off for San Antonio as we had a planning session on Saturday for the 2013 National Meet. Peter and Maki did touristy things - visiting the Alamo and the Riverwalk, and of course, shopping at Macy's. We drove home on Sunday morning and then went to the afternoon game.

Ah, what a difference an opponent makes...36,000 fans when the Rangers are here. Only 14,000 when the Brewers were here. Astros handily beat the Brewers but lost to the Rangers 1-6.

What fun when Sneed's company entertains clients. We get to go to Astros games and sit in the suites meaning we get food, beverages, great seats and Astros.
