Skype-ing with Annemarie and Burke

This was a real treat...Annemarie and Burke on Skype. Burke is 3w1d here and growing like a weed. I believe he was around 11# at this time.
This was a first for me photographing from the computer...hopefully next time, I will be more accurate in getting the subjects completely in the frame.

Dylin, Hip Hop Artiste

I was excited about going to Dylin's dance recital mainly to see this little slip of a girl strut her stuff. Last year I got some cute video of her performance and was looking forward to doing so again from the same seat. Well, the seat was the same; unfortunately, the video was not. Since the studio was closing down after the recital, they went all out with the lighting effects this year. This, however, played havoc with the video as half the time the stage was too dark to even see the performers. Having said that, I am sparing you the content of the video. So, I don't have any photos of Dylin in her costume; however I have a few of her after the show in her street clothes.

She's come a long way from her first year performance as a baby ballerina.

A last parting photo

Why do 'they' say, "Parting is such sweet sorrow"?

A visit to In N Out

Grandma and Papa Sneed were leaving today to head back to Texas. We had a special farewell lunch at In N Out, at least they did. I was asleep as usual and didn't even get a French Fry.

Burke with Mommy and Daddy

Would you say my parents are geeks? (as in computer experts or enthusiasts)

Road Trip to Ojai

We all went in Daddy's truck on a road trip to Ojai. Here are two of the sights I missed seeing as I was asleep. On the left is Lake Casitas, and on the right is the local post office, an oft photographed building. Maybe next time....

The Many Faces of Burke

Already a pro at posing for the camera

Burke's First Shopping Expedition

Burke is on a shopping expedition. First stop Old Navy to buy some post pregnancy clothes, then McDonald's for some light refreshment. Mommy enjoys the freedom of both hands while Burke enjoys being cradled in the K'tan baby carrier.

Another of Burke's favorite sleep haunts is the Soothing Motions Glider.

Burke loves to be held

I'm most content when someone holds me

First Stroller Ride

I'm such a contented chap. Put me in the car seat, then hook it into the stroller, and I'm out like a light.

Tuesday, May 10

A big outing

Whoopee! Mommy drove Daddy's truck and Grandma sat next to me for a ride to the craft store. I slept all the way there, whilst in the store, and back home again.

An easy going day

Totally relaxed

We Meet Burke Ander

Annemarie met us at the door and handed Burke to me right then and there. She said, "Here, I know you've been waiting to hold him." And hold him I did!

Burke's reaction to meeting Sneed for the first time was similar to Annemarie's when she met him in the Abadan, Iran, airport at 6 weeks old. It didn't take long, however, before Burke opened his eyes, saw his Papa Sneed, and decided to go to sleep.

They Left the Nest

My babies have grown up so fast - too fast!!

In the nest and....OUT!!

They've spread their wings and flown albeit quite tentatively. That's Mama on the left in the center photo.

I'm not ready for them to go...this morning the twins were in the nest, this afternoon they were 'flying' from branch to branch. Papa Jay was watching me very carefully as I took these photos. Kept flying from one side to the other right past me. I explained I was filming them for their baby albums, for posterity, but he didn't understand. Finally let them be and saved my own life = )...and now they are really gone. I checked the next day and they have abandoned the nest totally.

Sunday, May 1

It's May, May the First, May Day, It's Sunday, It's a Great Day to have a Baby

Annemarie and Brett jointly called at precisely 302PM. i say 'precisely' since I checked the caller ID which said 3:01 and knowing that it was often off by a minute or two, verified with my cell phone, that indeed the time on the caller ID was a minute shy. I know, I know, that's just the way I am. I like to be exact in my reporting.

Here's the email I sent out reporting the glad tidings:

That's all the news we have for now ~ To say the least...We're over the moon!!
